A great result for BOP at the 2021 Junior Quadrangular competition in Pukekohe this weekend. Placing 2nd overall behind Auckland. Last year the Quads were cancelled due to COVID so this March it was excellent for the 4 districts (Auckland/Northland/BOP/Waikato) and players that the event went ahead at the Franklin Squash Club.
Each district enters two boys and two girls in each of the Under 13, Under 15, and Under 17 age groups, and three from each gender in the Under 19 age group.
Coach Robbie Wyatt was very pleased with the weekend saying he was “very proud of how our BOP team conducted themselves over the entire weekend both on and off the court.”
Manager Kelly Mitchinson did a great job of looking after the team. “A very competitive weekend with some awesome squash from our young athletes. We were lucky to be coached by Robbie Wyatt and Becky Clarke who once again showed their dedication and great coaching for our girls and boys.”
The Franklin Club did a fantastic job of hosting the event and the weekend ran smoothly and without complication. The food was excellent for the lunches that were provided, and on Saturday night the hosts provided a roast dinner which was definitely over and above.
