Junior Quad Results

An excellent weekend of squash was held at the 2017 Junior Quad event in Taupo over the weekend between BOP, Auckland ,Waikato & Northland.

Auckland took out the title again with a very strong line up of players.  Waikato finished a close second with Northland third & BOP a creditable 4th.  I can't remember a time when the competition has been so close between BOP, Waikato & Northland.  We were pipped at the post 11-9 by both districts.

It was great to see the young BOP team putting in a huge effort with many stand out performances.  Mayia Winika, our under 11 girl from Putaruru, had a huge battle with Hayley Rhodes from Northland eventually losing 12-10 in the 5th.   Amazing effort from both girls.

Jack Hudson from Geyser City nearly caused a big upset against Shayden Toka from Northland in BOP vs Northland's final match.  Jack came up just short against his higher ranked opponent 16-14 in the 4th.  An inspirational performance where Jack gave it everything he had.

Our under 11 boy Kyro Stevens went unbeaten throughout the weekend, as did with our under 19 girls pair of Nadia Hubbard & Camden Te Kani-McQueen.

The coaching & management were very proud of the BOP teams effort & we are confident our juniors stocks are looking very promising for the future.
